John is an experienced, forward thinking dentist, and Practice Principal of Ghyllmount Dental. John is also a Special Advisor to the CQC and Chair of the LDC (Local Dental Commitee).

Outside of work he has a love of the fells and rowing.

Shiona joined us in 1999 and has made her name as a family dentist due to her caring nature. She is committed to professional development, regularly attending courses on aesthetic dentistry. She has a keen interest in facial aesthetics and Botox and has been personally trained by Dr Bob Khanna.

Shiona is married to a local vet and has provided advice for small animal dental cases. She enjoys spending time in the garden.

We are delighted to welcome Ruben Martinez to Ghyllmount. Ruben has extensive restorative qualifications and will bring much needed skills to Cumbria. He has a particular interest in tooth wear cases, smile design, full mouth rehabilitation and managing TMJ problems. An established professional armed with extensive knowledge and experience in dental and oral healthcare. Ruben is bilingual in Spanish and English and has 13 years experience in the UK.

In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, travelling, and skiing in winter and scuba diving in the summer.

Since joining the practice in summer 2013, Dominic has enjoyed providing the highest standard of dental health care for all his patients in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Dominic’s area of special interest is in the treatment of gum disease and he has a Masters Degree in Periodontology.

This has given him the necessary knowledge and skill to help those with particularly severe gum disease, or gum disease which has not improved following treatment, and he now accepts referrals from other dental practices.

Dominic will work with you to improve your gums. They are not only the foundation of a healthy mouth, but also have beneficial effects on your general health.

In his spare time Dominic enjoys the outdoors and is a keen fell runner and climber.

Neil joined Ghyllmount in 2010, and is married to June with two children, Jack and Scarlet. Neil has been treating patients under conscious sedation since 1987. It is a fantastic technique for patients who are anxious or nervous about visiting the dentist and can be used alongside all types of dental treatment. Conscious sedation relaxes the patient so they can undergo the dental treatment without fear and worry.

Neil has extensive intra oral dental implant experience and has been placing dental implants since 1999. They are used to replace missing teeth and can also be used as connectors to dentures making the dentures firm and stable.

He has long experience of advanced restorative and aesthetic treatment and is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology.

Outside dentistry he enjoys watching rugby, walking over the fells and keeping fit at the gym.

Anna graduated from Liverpool University in 1997 and returned to work in Cumbria in 2001, joining the Ghyllmount Team in January 2016.

She is an experienced and conscientious dentist committed to providing her patients with high quality dental care.

She leaves a group of patients whom have been with her for 14 years in her previous practice and she wants to care for her new patients at Ghyllmount with the same unwavering commitment to their dental health needs.

In her spare time she enjoys fell walking, running and cycling.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Ravi Manemi to Ghyllmount.
 He is a registered Specialist in Oral Surgery and has worked in several hospitals across the UK since 2006. In 2012 Ravi attained the LDSRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and obtained MFDSRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Ravi has extensive experience in all aspects of Oral Surgery, Dental Sedation and dealing with anxious patients. He will provide the full range of oral surgery services including difficult extractions, apicectomy’s and the removal of wisdom teeth.

Outside work Ravi enjoys swimming, cycling, walking and watching cricket.

Andy is an enthusiastic dentist who is passionate about endodontics. He has a masters degree from the university of Chester and accepts referrals for endodontic treatment. 

He is also very involved in teaching endodontics to gdps and is an accredited trainer through Dentsply. He regularly delivers evening seminars and runs 2 day hands on events to teach everything from diagnosis not restoring the endodontically treated tooth.

When he is not working he enjoys cycling and walking with his wife and 3 children in Northumberland.
 

Chris qualified from Birmingham in 2008 and returned to his native North East where he completed his initial training with our very own Dr Andy Ratsey!
He offers a pragmatic friendly opinion and a wide range of options to address any concerns you may have and performs a range of aesthetic procedures to help you achieve a healthy smile.
The main scope of Chris' practice is providing smile design along with tooth alignment and minimally invasive dentistry. Chris provides teeth straightening with the Invisalign and Quick Straight Teeth systems where he has been recognised as a brand ambassador for his work.
Outside of work Chris is a father to two children and a long suffering Sunderland AFC fan.
 

Rebecca qualified from UCLAN, and has been working in Carlisle but has lived in Penrith for most of her life, attending QEGS.  She ensure's her patients get the best results she can deliver, along with a friendly, familiar, relaxed experience.

Outside of work she enjoys looking after her two horses and going for walks in the Lakes with her dog.

Aditya Dubagunta (Adi) is a GDC registered dentist. He completed MSc in Experimental Oral Pathology with Merit from Queen Mary University of London. To understand and provide better quality of care he passed with honours in Master of Business Administration in Health care Management from University of Wales. After passing GDC statutory exams in the UK, Adi has completed the SAAD sedation qualification to help and support nervous patients for dental treatments. He has a specialist interest in Dental implants and Restorative Dentistry. He also provides Invisalign treatment as well as cosmetic dentistry. He has a great penchant in teaching and has been training trainee dental nurses for the past eight years. Besides dentistry he enjoys spending time with his children and playing cricket.

Charlotte joined our team in January 2015 following her graduation from Liverpool University with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy and quickly became a valuable member of the team.

She enjoys getting to know her patients individually to provide high quality dental care.

Clare joined Ghyllmount Dental Practice in September 2022 after relocating back north after many years living in the South of England. Clare graduated from the UCL Eastman Dental Hospital Education Centre in London as a dental hygienist and therapists in 2018. She is a kind, caring and friendly, with excellent communication skills and at her graduation she was presented with the Tutors’ Award for outstanding communication and going above and beyond for patients.

Clare is passionate about educating and motivating patients to give them the information and skills they need in order to manage their oral health and prevent oral diseases. 

In her spare time Clare enjoys travelling, playing sport and exploring the Cumbrian countryside with her Girlfriend and family.

We are pleased to welcome Siobhan to the team. She joins us as a hygiene therapist so as well as keeping everyone's teeth lovely and sparkly, she will also be taking care of the Ghyllmount children.
Siobhan spent time as a dental nurse before training to be a hygiene therapist. She is local girl coming from Carlisle. In her spare time Siobhan loves doing any kind of activity as long as it's fun and she loves travelling and seeing different countries. 

We are delighted to welcome Mariam to the team, who joins us as a dental hygienist. Mariam is kind, caring and very thorough. She is passionate about maintaining and improving oral health and looks forward to getting to know more about her patients needs and wishes.

Outside of work, Mariam enjoys spending time with her family, keeping fit and cooking.
