Beautician Joanne McDonald who herself shielded throughout lockdown realised the vulnerability of being stuck inside. She is now branching out to highlight the importance of self care and a bit of TLC for the elderly and vulnerable. She will now allocate time out of her appointment book to offer home visits to those who are unable to leave their own home, or are in residential care or for those who still don't feel confident venturing out. Joanne has found that touch is a very powerful thing. Even holding someone's hand in a simple hand massage can make all the difference and give a sense of warmth and well being.
Home visits are available on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Call 01768 862291 where the reception team will arrange a call back from Joanne to discuss your needs and wishes
Today Ghyllmount turns 12 and what a great 12 years it has been. Thank you so much to all that have been a part of Ghyllmount and made it what it is today. Of course we will be celebrating with cakes, how amazing are these cupcakes that dental nurse Charlottes mum made for us!!

I have been qualified for 19 years and I am proud of what I do, because it is fulfilling and heartwarming.
The biggest lesson my job has taught me is “that it is all about people”. I understand fear and anxiety. I know that “a visit to the dentist” can be dreaded. My best moment of a working day is when I help someone to realise that “the visit to the dentist” can be a completely different experience, one highlighted with kindness and care.
We are sorry to announe that dentist Dani Vargas will be leaving us in April. We wish her well and will miss her being part of the Ghyllmount Team. We would like to thank Dani for her hard work during her time with us.

We are so pleased to welcome the latest additions to the Ghyllmount family. Dental nurses Rachel and Leanne gave birth to two gorgeous boys Lucas and Billy this month. Both mums and babies are doing well and adjusting to their new life at home with their big sisters. We are so happy to share some lovely news with everyone. The whole team can't wait to meet them

We are so pleased to announce that we raised £75.00 for The Royal British Legion from our Poppy sales. Even under the current circumstances and without the usual patient flow coming through the practice we think this is fantastic so a huge thank you to all of you who donated. We are no focusing once again on the Bright Red charity in memory of our much loved colleague Louise. Until our book corner can return, donations can be made in the entrance of the practice.
