Dental nurses Leanne and Gemma had a great time with the children and staff at Shap Primary School on Thursday. The girls went along to give a fun filled presentation and oral health tips to the children. They said that the children had lots of questions and all got involved. A great day was had by all!
On Wednesday we had our annual CPR training with Dave. This is great for the team to keep up to date with basic life support. It was also Dora and Sasha’s first session with us so they both got stuck right in
We are delighted to welcome Andy Ratsey to Ghyllmount where he will be offering endodotic treatments.
Andy is an enthusiastic dentist who is passionate about endodontics (root canal treatment). He has a masters degree from the university of Chester and accepts referrals for endodontic treatment.
He is also very involved in teaching endodontics to other dentist's and is an accredited trainer through Dentsply..
When he is not working he enjoys cycling and walking with his wife and 3 children in Northumberland.
100 Years of smiles!
4 Members of the Ghyllmount team are celebrating a combined 100 years at the practice.
Karon Kirkland, Business Manager has clocked up 30 years, with Practice Principal John Lewis and receptionist Helen Brown celebrating 25 years each, alongside dentist Shiona Anderton who is in her 20th year at the practice.
John Lewis says “throughout the many changes over the years it is very satisfying and heart warming to see that the long term loyalty of the staff has helped us grow and become the outstanding practice we are today. Many thanks go to all our team for their hard work and their efforts to make a visit to Ghyllmount the best it can be each day.”
“It is so nice to welcome new patients to the practice but it is wonderful to have patients who have been with us since the start too. Of course Special thanks must go to all our fabulous patients for their continued loyalty.”
Congratulations to Dental Nurse Laura Bowman on getting her Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 and is now a qualified Dental Nurse. She has worked very hard towards this and the Ghyllmount Team are all very proud of her
We would like to give a warm welcome to our two new Dental Nurses Dora and Sasha. Welcome to the team girls, we think you will both fit in nicely with the crazy bunch that works here
Tooth Fairies Leanne, Terri and Gemma have been doing the rounds again and visiting the children of Penrith giving them some tooth brushing advice and lots of lovely little gifts. Todays first stop was Penrith Library, thank you to all who was there. Great fun was had by all
Ghyllmount Dental are going en masse to donate our blood for the first time. We are greatly appreciative of the care the NHS has given to our colleague Louise during her recent treatment for leukaemia, so we wanted to give something back. Even our needle phobic principal John Lewis has decided to attend.
Mr Lewis practice principle is at the Ashes test England vs Australia cricket match in Edgbaston today, working alongside Boundaries for Life doing free oral healthcare checks for anyone attending.
Once again our tooth fairy Leanne has been busy. This time it was lovely to have some children visit the practice. They enjoyed having a ride in the chair and giving Leanne her check up! There are definitely some budding dentist's and nurses there. Thanks so much for coming to see us.
